Who We Are

            Heart of the Word Ministries is;
a nondenominational/interdenominational Christian teaching ministry. That's a fancy way of saying that we welcome any and all who believe in Jesus Christ as savior. Our sole mission is to educate and edify the body of Christ (consisting of all believers from any denomination) about their faith and edify them for the work of service (Ephesians 4:11-13).  It is our sincere desire to empower Christians to be able to explain, and when needed, defend, their faith.
(2 Timothy 4:1-3, 1 Peter 3:15).

    HOW Ministries is the vision of Sr. Pastor, Fred Thornton. For many years, Fred has had a hunger and passion to know more about God, His holy word, and the Christian faith. Along with this passion came a desire to teach what he has learned to others. Fred has a burden to share the wisdom of God's Word with as many as will listen. Having been discipled himself, Fred now desires to teach and disciple others; to bless them with the gift of knowledge that he has experienced. It was for this reason that Heart of the Word Ministries came into being.
